Marianna Giorgi

Freelance dancer and teacher from Rome, from 2012 to 2015 she was a member of CORE, Coordination of Contemporary Dance and Performing Arts of the Lazio Region. In 2008 and 2009 he was a teacher at “La Sapienza Danza”, a study, research and development project on stage movement and bodily expression, promoted by the University of Rome, La Sapienza.
Her works have been presented at important National and International Festivals, including “Be Happening”, directed by Marcella Fanzaga, at the Comuna Baires residence in Milan, “Attacchi di CORE”, as part of the “Frammenti” Festival Ric – Rieti Invasioni Creative, promoted by A.T.C.L. Lazio, “Tendance Festival” directed by Ricky Bonavita and Theodor Rawyler. She was a finalist at the “Choreographic Miniatures” Festival in Belgrade, “Dumbo Dane Festival” in New York, “No Ballett Festival” in Ludwigshafen, Germany. In July 2015 he created the choreographic work “Geremia – study for three dancers” for “Artescienza”, a CRM project – musical research center and Compagnia Excursus with the artistic coordination of Michelangelo Lupone and Ricky Bonavita and the original music by Federico Paganelli, in agreement with the Santa Cecilia conservatory and the National Dance Academy. Three students from the three-year course in contemporary dance at the Academy itself took part in the project. In 2017 she was one of the dancers selected to participate in the prestigious Eastman Intensive directed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, in Antwerp (Belgium). In 2018 he was a finalist at the Equilibrio Prize, organized by the Musica per Roma Foundation and directed by Roger Salas, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. In June 2019 she was invited to the CortoInDanza Festival directed by Simonetta Pusceddu (Cagliari) where she was assigned the choreographic residency for multiple T. off performers.
She is the founder of Focus Parma – intensive advanced training in contemporary dance, at Europa Teatri (Parma). Since 2018 he has been a teacher for the three-year professional training course at the S.P.I.D center in Milan, directed by Marta Levis. In 2022 she was a teacher and choreographer within the Periferica | Dance Circus Lab project promoted by the Balletto di Roma in collaboration with Hangar delle Arti, Kollatino Underground and Centro di Produzione Circo Contemporaneo Lazio. Since 2024 she has been teaching body action techniques at Balletto di Roma School.
