Micaela Greganti

She graduated from the National Dance Academy in Rome where she obtained the eighth year dancer diploma and the artistic high school diploma in 1986. He joined the AND dance troupe under the direction of Maestro Zarko Prebil and performed in many shows in Italy. In 1986 the British Council (U.K.) awarded her a scholarship to further her studies at the prestigious Royal Ballet Upper School (London) where she obtained the Diploma in High Training in Classical Ballet. With the Royal Ballet Upper School he performed on the stage of the Royal Opera House in “Concerto” by Kenneth Mac Millan and “Class” by Misha Messerer and at the Royal Albert Hall he took part in “Fashion Aid”, a charity show organized by Bob Gedolf ​​in which they participated the biggest celebrities from the world of entertainment and fashion (Freddie Mercury, Boy George, Madonna, George Michael, Grace Jones, Angelica Houston, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Yves Saint Laurent, and many others). She studied and worked with renowned masters such as Galina Samsova, Sulamith Messerer, Victor Litvinov, Gabriel Popescu, Vladimir Lupov, Ricardo Nunez, Ivan Kramer, Konstantin Damianov, Irek Mukhamedov, Sorella Englund, Patricia Neary, Nanette Glushak, etc. She was noticed and hired by Peter Darrell, director of the Scottish Ballet (Glasgow), and joined his company where she carried out her artistic career with consecutive contracts from 1986 to 2003.
She played leading and solo roles in numerous ballets of the classical and neo-classical repertoire (Carmen, Esmeralda, Myrtha, Concerto Barocco, Who Cares?, Les Sylphides, Forgotten Land, etc.) on international tours (Great Britain, France, Portugal, Spain , Canada, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Ukraine and Russia) and participated in various Royal Galas for the British Royal Family dancing for Princess Margaret, Princess Diana and Prince Charles. She worked with international choreographers such as Jiri Killian, Hans van Manen, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Oleg Vinogradov, Roberth Cohan, Robert North, André Prokovsky, Peter Wright, and many others. She is the choreographer of several ballets and in 1998 the Scottish Ballet chose to bring her “First Movement” to the national “Cool Classics” tour and commissioned “Mosaic” (1998) from her together with other choreographers. In 2004 she returned to Italy and collaborated with numerous dance schools as a teacher of classical technique, pointe and repertoire, also holding lessons for professionals. Since 2007 she has dedicated herself to the study of the Pilates Method and in 2009 she obtained the Diploma of “Certified Practitioner of Pilates Mat”. In 2010 she wrote a book about her artistic life “Emozioni in tiptoe” (Ded’a edizioni) presented on 16 May at the Turin Book Fair.
From 2011 to 2016 she taught classical technique and Pilates at the three-year TAF Higher Education Course at the Bartolomei Training Centre. In March 2006 she had a fixed-term contract with the National Dance Academy (Rome) as a teacher of Classical Repertoire at the two-year specialist course in Catania. From 2019 to 2024 she collaborated on several occasions with the AND, as a teacher of classical technique in the 1st and 4th preparatory courses, and of classical repertoire in the 4th and 8th preparatory courses, in the women’s three-year period and in the men’s three-year period. From March to June 2022 she is choreographer for the National Dance Academy for the artistic project “Class Concert 2022 – Homage to Gershwin”. From September 2018 to today she has been a teacher of Pointe Technique and Repertoire at the Higher Professional Training Course at the Golden Theater in Rome. From October 2023 to January 2024 she was a classical repertoire teacher at Balletto di Roma Dance School and in September 2024 She joined the school’s staff.
