Contemporary dance teacher Dancer and choreographer, Paolo Mangiola lives between Rome and London and works as a freelance artist within the whole of Europe. During his career as a professional dancer, he has worked for some of the best international contemporary dance companies. Alongside his work as a performer, he decided at a very young age to dedicate himself to the exploration of his artistic practice by creating choreographies that are, still today, a part of the Aterballetto and Tanztheater Nürnberg’s repertoire. During his professional career as a dancer for the Wayne McGregor | Random Dance company, British author Wayne McGregor has allowed him to become an integral part of his creations, by nurturing his choreographic talent and artistic growth. His choreographic works have been performed at The Place, Sadler’s Wells and Linbury Studio – Covent Garden in London, as well as in different contexts such as contemporary art galleries and urban spaces in Norway, England and Germany. He perfected his studies at The Place in London, graduating with a Master in Choreography in 2014. In October 2013, he created for Balletto di Roma the “Race Race” choreography. His recent work, featured in the global cultural video channel Nowness, has reached in a short time thousands of views thus rapidly becoming a viral internet success. At the moment Paolo Mangiola is also a guest teacher of classical technique, choreography and dance history at the University of Malta.
