Following his graduation from the Teatro alla Scala dance school in 1992, Gianluca Schiavoni became a part of the corps de ballet by undertaking soloist and primo ballerino roles. From 2006 he has dedicated himself to choreography and has created Andromeda (2006/Teatro Manzoni di Pistoia), Orion (2007/Teatro Manzoni di Milano), Amnios (which was inserted in the Sphairos performance, a triptych of young Italian choreographers). In 2009 he created the “Shock” performance (directed by Andrea Forte), which was performed at Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan. In 2010 he began working as a choreographer for Teatro alla Scala di Milano with the short film An Italian Dream (directed by Matthias Zentner), followed in 2011 by the choreographies L’Altro Casanova, Romeo et Juliette and L’altra metà del cielo. He created the choreography Kimera for Balletto di Roma.
